Kris is a licensed landscape architect with more than 20 years of experience designing thoughtful, functional landscapes throughout the Inland Northwest and beyond. A Washington State University graduate and native of the region, he brings a deep understanding of its climate, landscapes, and seasonal challenges, from snowy winters and dry summers to wildfire risk and changing site conditions.

His professional background spans custom residential landscapes, parks and recreation, commercial development, and public-sector projects, including work with Spokane County Parks, the National Park Service, and multidisciplinary architecture and engineering teams. That experience has shaped an approach that looks beyond individual landscape elements to consider how people move through a site, how spaces relate to one another, and how a landscape can perform well over time.

Kris founded Timber Drift to bring that depth of experience to clients looking for thoughtful, site-responsive design and a more personal design process. Every project begins with understanding the goals, character, and constraints of the property before developing a solution that balances creativity, function, resilience, and long-term value.
